Five steps to early retirement
Five steps to early retirement
By Leah Gliniewicz • Bankrate.com
Even if you fail to win the lottery, don't give up your dreams -- you can still plan for an early retirement. But wait too long, and you won't have a nest egg to sit on.
According to the 2003 Retirement Confidence Survey by the American Savings Education Council in Washington, D.C., only 21 percent of saving Americans are very confident of having enough money to live comfortably after they retire. And, the study found that three in 10 workers have not saved for retirement.
Debt can play havoc with retirement planning.
"Debt is a deterrent to growth, says Jeffrey Levine, a certified financial planner in Albany, N.Y. and a member of the Financial Planning Association." You want to get rid of debt, especially if you have high interest rates like credit cards."
So how do you begin?
Step 1: Develop a plan
Figure out how much your present lifestyle costs you. Then think about the type of life you want to lead after retirement. Realize that you could be retiring at the midpoint in your life, and you'll be on a fixed salary, Levine says. Don't forget to consider your long-term health care costs.
Step 2: Think in two's
Make financial plans for two stages of retirement: the periods before and after you are 59 ½ years old, says Les Abromovitz, author of You Can Retire. First, secure the after-59 ½ stage of retirement with investments such as 401(k)s, Individual Retirement Accounts, pensions, annuities, Social Security and savings.
"If you're serious about early retirement, you also want to look for ways to fund the pre-59 ½ stage of retirement," Abromovitz says.
Figure out what assets you have that produce income. And you might want to begin investing more aggressively, with investments that produce a greater rate of return.
If your home won't suit your retirement lifestyle, remember that the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997 allows you in many cases to keep the capital gain when you sell the home, Abromovitz says. That money could help carry you through the first years of early retirement.
Step 3: Take advantage of tax-deferred opportunities
To secure the back-end of your retirement, maximize the money you put into your retirement fund, says Ileen Malitz, certified financial planner and author of The Modern Role of Bond Covenants. She stresses starting a 401(k) and a Roth IRA from day one of employment.
"If you're willing to enroll in a 401(k) you're taking a major step to retiring early," Abromovitz says. "401(k)s and IRAs are can't-lose situations as long as you continue investing in the long haul. You take advantage of tax shelters and compounding for decades by doing so. So it's hard to go wrong."
Putting money in an IRA does not mean paying penalties if you go fishing earlier than planned. For the purpose of early retirement, you can withdraw from your IRA if you take advantage of the annuity payout.
Step 4: Invest it
The third place to stick your left-over money is in non-tax sheltered mutual funds. Figure out where to invest it so it produces a decent return. Look in the mutual fund column of the newspaper for funds with no custodial fees and no commissions, known as loads.
"It's best to combine it into a money market that earns good interest and stock mutual funds. It will be taxable, but it still is probably the best place for it," Malitz says.
While mutual funds outside an IRA or 401(k) may not be tax sheltered, they can be tax efficient. In the case of mutual funds, this means the fund managers buy and sell the fund's assets with an eye to tax consequences.
No matter where you invest your money, your best bet is to do it on a regular basis. "For people who don't find it easy to save, the best thing to do is to get into an automatic investment program," Abromovitz says. A fixed amount such as $50 to $100 is deducted from your paycheck monthly and invested in mutual funds. The result is dollar-cost averaging, which means you buy more shares when prices are low and fewer when prices are high.
Abromovitz says the last thing a would-be retiree should consider is investing on hot stock tips: "To me, you should have all of these solid investments first. If you hear about something, it should be money you're ready to lose. It should be a lower priority."
Step 5: Stick to your plan
Early retirement requires a long-term savings and investing plan, and it takes discipline. This means keeping debt down and perhaps not living as lavishly now, so you can reap the benefits later.
You make a choice between lifestyle and high wealth accumulation. If you want wealth accumulation, you have to live a modest lifestyle. It has to be a written, conscious choice.
Time is on your side. The earlier you start and the longer you leave your money untouched, the more compounding can work for you.
When you haven't saved, it's hard to go back and make up for it. Malitz says the easiest thing is to decide to save 10 percent of your income. You'll probably never miss it.

Don't Piss Off Mommy!
My eight-year-old son's hamster had eight little hamster babies two weeks ago. They were doing great, in another week we can separate them from the mommy hamster.
Today, I was checking on the brood and could only count seven babies. I took all the critters out and carefully sifted through the bedding (they bury themselves) - no eighth baby.
I sat son down to explain to him what had happened when he came home from school. He sat quietly and a tear welled up when I told him about the tragic demise of one of his babies. He accepted this, taking it rather well.
About an hour he walked up to me and asked if he would ever have to worry about a similar fate.
I confess that my brilliant, eight year old son is concerned that I may one day eat him.
He is so cute!
(I told him he would never, ever have to worry his pretty little head about that!)

Who's That Fattie?
You know how when they speak about the obesity crisis on the news, they will sometimes show random fat people going about their lives? Of course, they never film their faces.
I confess that I saw myself on the news tonight - I was eating a burger. And even though they didn't show my face, it was pretty darn obvious it was me.
So nice to know that I am example of the obesity crisis in America.

ZOMBIE for Mon-Mid Fri, Human for Bottom mid Fri-Sun Night
ZOMBIE for mon-mid fri, human for mid fri-sun night
life is such a routine. wake up at 7, bath till 730, get outta house by 740, reach the interchage by 755, hop on the bus... sleep for an hour, buy my breakfast. Da-duh, jus nice, reach office at exactly 9 or earlier. Work ..... (occassionally surf...) till 1230 for an hour lunch.. work again....... knockoff time - 6pm! well.. nobody is leaving yet... a sense of guilt grows in me if i leave earlier than these bunch of pioneers. yea weak ain't it?
My only gratification @ work is the music resides in my harddisk (thank god for bit torrent), and my msn messager to connect to the outside world, in which i don't have to talk business with! but hell. boss has restricted our msn to only put our decent official names (on our appointment letter), followed by whatever rubbish u wish to put behind. well.... I couldn't even write a complaint there. (stupid me, I should have used another account for this.)
Lately i've been thinkin if this is the life i want. I've not been enjoying the stuffs that i'm doing lately (I'm still wondering why), imagine... this endless cycles would happens for like another 20 years if i'm lucky. Work for money to travel...and for a certain level of luxery...
I don't want to work to make money... i want to enjoy work, haha of cuz with abit of income to be realistic... but sometimes it's tough to balance both. When u enjoy your work, most probably you will not have the luck to get a fat pay cheque.
So what now ? work for money or work to enjoy? It's tough for me to choose...

Moi Current Situation
Yeah i've just submitted my resignation letter, felt so relieved to get away from this place. I could say this is the worst working place that i've ever been to. Most prolly it's due the reason that i was brought in by the previous manager that they bear some grudges against me. Oh well, this is just not my place, and a lesson learnt.
My last day would be 20/21 Aug, and would b startin on my new job on the 25th Aug. A 6 months contract job, whether or not i'll b turned to perm shall rely on my performance. So i gotta work real hard in these 6 months, and hope everything goes well, with my weekends untouched!
- I don't have any dealings with any of those mean fussy people ever again :)
- Watever happened here, and whatever apps that i've developed aren't mine anymore. FREEDOM!!!
- No more changing of stupid grammatical/spelling mistakes on those stupid web portals!!
- hee yay!!! and finally.........
- No more responsibilities, no more gossips, no more backstabbings.
My New Job
I'll be joinin my new place as a solution developer, sounds nice huh? heh i'm lookin forward to it and at the same time, feeling petrified. What happens if i am unable to cope? Nonetheless, those coffee joints out there are ever-ready to welcome me back, aren't they? so i am not in the worst case :D haha!

1. Never give me work in the morning. Always wait until 4:00 and then bring it to me. The challenge of a deadline is refreshing.
2. If it's really a rush job, run in and interrupt me every
10 minutes to inquire how it's going. That helps. Even
better, hover behind me, and advise me at every keystroke.
3. Always leave without telling anyone where you're going. It gives me a chance to be creative when someone asks where you are.
4. If my arms are full of papers, boxes, books, or supplies, don't open the door for me. I need to learn how to function as a paraplegic and opening doors with no arms is good training in case I should ever be injured and lose all use of my limbs.
5. If you give me more than one job to do, don't tell me
which is priority. I am psychic.
6. Do your best to keep me late. I adore this office and
really have nowhere to go or anything to do. I have no life beyond work.
7. If a job I do pleases you, keep it a secret. If that gets
out, it could mean a promotion.
8. If you don't like my work, tell everyone. I like my name to be popular in conversations. I was born to be whipped.
9. If you have special instructions for a job, don't write
them down. In fact, save them until the job is almost done. No use confusing me with useful information.
10. Never introduce me to the people you're with. I have no right to know anything. In the corporate food chain, I am plankton. When you refer to them later, my shrewd deductions will identify them.
11. Be nice to me only when the job I'm doing for you could really change your life and send you straight to manager's hell.
12. Tell me all your little problems. No one else has any
and it's nice to know someone is less fortunate. I especially like the story about having to pay so many taxes on the bonus check you received for being such a good manager.
13. Wait until my yearly review and THEN tell me what my goals SHOULD have been. Give me a mediocre performance rating with a cost of living increase. I'm not here for the money anyway.

I am a procrastinator....
Keep putting work off until the eleventh (or twelfth) hour? Here's a few reasons why you might be procrastinating, and a checklist to help you stop. Plus, corporate dishonesty or office politics-which bugs you more?

Dear Annie:
I just had my annual evaluation and, while it was generally very good, my boss made special note of something I know is a weakness: I tend to procrastinate. So far, I've never actually missed a deadline on any of my work, but there is less and less "wiggle time" with every assignment, so that sometimes my colleagues are forced to rush to accommodate my last-minute ways. I've been an "eleventh-hour" person all my life-usually up until dawn doing a 20-page term paper the night before it was due, in college, for example-but I can see I need to focus on changing this now. Where do I start?
Tick Tock
Dear Tock:
A man after my own heart! After all, why do at a leisurely pace today what you can rush through tomorrow, right? The causes of procrastination are legion. Some people work best under pressure (or think they do: nothing like that ol' adrenaline rush of fear to get things rolling). Others put off only the tasks they really dislike, and if you're faced with enough of those during the average day, it may be a sign you need to change jobs. Still others of us suffer from a deep-seated fear of success, and all that comes with it, so putting stuff off becomes a means of self-sabotage. Of course, I have no idea what's driving your eleventh-hour habit, but I did come across a checklist for making new habits that may help. I have this list (in bold type, below) taped to my computer; it's condensed from Time Power: A Proven System for Getting More Done in Less Time Than You Ever Thought Possible (Amacom, $24.95), by time-management expert Brian Tracy. See if it rings any bells with you:
Select one task where procrastination is holding you back, and resolve to start and finish that one project. Most of us are pulled in so many directions at once, it's easy to put off one thing-no matter how urgent-until you've taken care of something else, and then one more thing, and then that over there.... Stop!
Make a detailed list of everything you will have to do to complete that one project. Think on paper. One thing that works for me-simple, but effective-is to make a to-do list with little boxes on each item and check the boxes as I go.
Choose the single most important item on the list and do it first. Good idea! As the saying goes, "Well begun is half done."
Set a specific time when you are going to begin. Makes sense, doesn't it? Write it in your datebook (or Palm Pilot, or what have you) as if it were the most important appointment of the day-because it is.
Refuse to make excuses or rationalize putting off what you need to do. Ah, excuses. Funny, isn't it, how impatient we are with other people's-and how tolerant (nay, indulgent) of our own?
Visualize yourself working with a sense of urgency. Program your mind by repeating the words "Do it now!" over and over. Another thing I find always helps, speaking of visualization: Picture yourself having finished this task, and how great you'll feel when it's not hanging over your head anymore.
Readers, what say you? Ever had to get that procrastination monkey off your back? What worked for you? Write and tell all. This is so widespread a bugaboo, I'd bet you have some great suggestions, and I'll include them in a future column.
Meanwhile, I got a letter the other day from a longtime college professor about to take the plunge into a corporate job who is concerned-thanks to all the recent scandals (Martha, say it ain't so!)-that ethics in the business world have sunk into an intolerable pit. This reminded me about a survey Watson Wyatt did a couple of months ago revealing that 72% of U.S. employees believe the people around and above them behave "with honesty and integrity" in financial matters, and in dealings with clients and investors. When it comes to overall ethics, though, the picture gets cloudy: "Hypocrisy and favoritism"-in other words, rotten office politics-was the No. 1 reason cited by workers who had lost respect for their employers.
Keep putting work off until the eleventh (or twelfth) hour? Here's a few reasons why you might be procrastinating, and a checklist to help you stop. Plus, corporate dishonesty or office politics-which bugs you more?

Autopsy Anyone?
There are a few common questions that I get asked when I tell people that I am interning in the morgue. The first most common question is: "What is the most disgusting/gruesome/grossest/etc. thing that you have seen?" Another common question is: "Doesn't it make you sad or depressed seeing all those dead people?" With that question people like to toss around the words "innocent" and "tragedy." Another very common question I get asked is: "Do you ever lose your appetite? or Do you ever feel like throwing up?" I think I will address this third question because its fun to relate food and pathology.
The only problem I had with food was with my first bad decomp case. The smell stuck with me all day and I could taste it in my mouth. The only thing I could eat was some white rice (actually white rice kind of looks like maggots... yum), but that was hard because everything tasted like decomp. After that one time I have had no problems with food. Yes, human muscle does look like a type of steak and liver looks like the liver you would buy in the grocery store (thats just plain disgusting) and when it is cut up, it looks like cubed pieces of beef you would use in a stew or shish kabob. The aorta looks like a piece of pasta when it is opened and cleaned off. Postmortem blood clots look like grape jelly. Decomposing brain looks and has the texture of cake batter. And then there is the fun of actually fishing through the gastric contents (in other words, vomit). You can find all sorts of goodies by fishing through the contents of the stomach. It is sometimes a fun game to try and guess what the decedent's last meal was. And don't even get me started on the many different types of bowel contents (poopey, for all you refined folks out there). Let me just say that you know when a person had Mexican food before he or she died. So, I have no problem with loss of appetite. I even eat my lunch in the morgue with bodies that are being autopsied in front of me (shhh, don't tell OSHA. They don't want us eating in the autopsy room.). As I have said, it is the talent of pathologists and morgue personnel to be able to describe everything in terms of food (actually a lot of doctors do this in medical school) and still be able to enjoy those foods.

I saw this book on some top charter, and the title somehow capture my attention. I went to popular wanted to get it, but it was sold out. Reserved my copy, and bought it after a few days, finished it in 2 days, now in the hands of eloise.
"The five people you meet in heaven" by Mitch Albom is a fabulous story about the purpose of life. Basically you die and when you do you meet 5 people who helped to shape your life in some way and they help you understand your life, answer the questions you had about your life, and help you to achieve peace. The story is very well told and since I don't want to give away anything about the book, I suggest having a box of tissue nearby because the book will make you cry if you have a soul (nope i didn't cry :P). The book attempts to teach us what is important in life through these lessons. All together I think it is a good book to read. Not to mention short...
Am now thinking about reading Tuesdays with Morrie next.
(Disclaimer: that silly image of the previous entry wasn't done by me k)

Antiques are something that foreigners constantly seek out in Thailand. I have discovered that very often, Thai people absolutely do not want to possess objects that belong to a deceased person for fear of having the previous owner's ghost attached to the object. "Oh! Look at that beautiful desk! It would look wonderful in my living room!" my friend exclaimed at an antique shop to her Thai companion. "I would never buy that," he answered. "I would think of the person who had to work at that desk everyday. I would wonder if they were happy then and if they are happy now."

Procrastination: I am a procrastinator.
Things are sure coming to the surface lately. It seems that issues we have managed to avoid for years are now rearing their heads to be faced. Our way of dealing with reality, or in some cases of avoiding dealing with reality, come back to haunt us.
Procrastination has been a biggie for me. My most common procrastination case has been the avoidance of situations that I didnt consciously know how to resolve. Rather than face the problem, go within, and find a solution, I have, like the ostrich, stuck my head in the sand. In instances when it involved telling someone something I felt they would not like to hear, I put it off to avoid what I feared would be an unpleasant confrontation. I have procrastinated until either the situation was in the past and forgotten (I hoped) or, more likely, until it came to a head, exploded, and could not be put off any longer. In other cases, the task at hand seemed so boring or unpleasant, that I delayed taking action and let it pile up. (i.e. filing, washing dishes, cleaning up, doing laundry, etc.)
Unfortunately, I have found that procrastination does not make the situation easier, as I hoped it might have. On the contrary, when we delay dealing with something, whether it is something as material as filing, or something as intangible as unresolved situations between people, time only serves to compound the error.
In most of the situations that have reached crisis proportions, I had delayed communication on specific issues because my personality self did not want to be in an uncomfortable situation. Yet what might have started as a small problem can boil up to a major confrontation because it was not dealt with at the beginning. The wound festers and eventually must be dealt with.
So again, it becomes obvious that procrastination does not serve at all. We need to face the issues that come up in our lives as they come up. If we avoid dealing with them, the universe will simply keep bringing up the same or similar situations, each time a little bit more intensely, until we face whatever it is we need to face.
In order to uproot this habit, we need to take a closer look at its cause. After all, procrastination is only a symptom or manifestation of something else. What then is the root cause of procrastination? As I sift through the occurrences where I have postponed what I could have dealt with right then, I see that though the justifications (excuses) are numerous, the cause is one.
I find that procrastination has to do with believing that I do not know how to deal with something or someone. Yet that boils down to lack of trust in myself, and lack of trust in my Higher Self and the Higher Self of others. When we trust completely in a Higher Power, we are aware that we can always harmoniously work out situations that come up to our awareness. We can tap in to our inner power and the right path will be revealed. We can choose to put away doubt and fear, and walk hand in hand with our Higher Self, the inner teacher, and the Universal Power. The guidance is always there, the inner voice of truth is always whispering to us and showing us the direction to take.
When we silence the confusing voices of fear, justification, procrastination, judgment, and anger, whether outer or inner directed, we can hear Higher Self leading us to a path of joy, love, and peace. Trusting, acting, and speaking with love and trust in the Ultimate Good will bring us peace within and with our neighbors.
If a situation is present in your life, you have the inner resources to resolve it. You can choose to look forward to finding what messages and wisdom these situations and people are bringing you, or you can procrastinate. Delaying looking at them only delays the discovery of the gift they bring.

"Xiang Zuo Zou, Xiang You Zou"
Watched "Turn Left Turn Right" yesterday. Nice movie.
Some quotes taken off the movie...
Aniki: "I'm just like a human without a shadow, without her."
"They're both conviced that a sudden passion joined them. such certainty is beautiful, but uncertainty is more beautiful still "
"Alone in a unfamiliar city, each longing for that one magical moment Will they ever meet again?"
Wonder how many of ya know Jimmy - sort of a comic artist in Taiwan?
Based on the original work of Jimmy
Screen Lovers- Jin Cheng Wu (Aniki Takeshi Kaneshiro) & GiGi Leong starred in this romantic love story which narrates the life of two city dwellers whose lovelife were twisted ard the hand of fate. Aniki played as a poor but talented musician (violin player) and gigi as a passionate-in-her-job Translator.
Aniki has the habit of turning right upon leaving the house and the gigi to the left due to some funny incidents.
Therefore, even though they r staying in the same block of apartment in the hustling city, they have never met each other. Even when they were heading home, they were actually walking towards each other's direction but thanks to this stupid tibits booth sitting between the 2 units, they never had their chance of meeting each other.
One fine day in the park, they finally get the chance to know each other, had a wonderful happy day together in the park, exchange phone numbers, promised to keep in touch. But back at their own homes, they took out the sheet of paper, the ink smudged ... will they get to meet again?
Dun u guys think that FATE is such a manovre in life? Some pple r not meant to meet each other thru their lives, juz like 2 parrallel lines, never crossing into each other's path. While some, unknowingly, walk into other's life. In ur enitre life, u may be living wif thousands and millions of pple in the city, but juz how many pple do u know?
Lifts, bus, mrt, along the streets............so many many places in which all these pple by pass u, but how many pple enter ur life? Isit it intriguing to know tat u r having so many pple ard u but u do not know them. You might juz be walking the same path and doing the same stuff with someone and yet u never meet that someone until one fine day, fate decides to bring the 2 of u together.
That's why i always believe in: Whats meant to be urs will be yours, what not meant to be yours will never will be.

The Iranian twins: Ladan Bijani and Laleh Bijani
Both are so determined to have their own individual life, to the extend of challenging death.
Kudos for their bravery, courage and determination.
It's sad that things ended this way, our heart ache for them.
It would be great if they could stay with us in this earth. =|
Hope their souls be separated by now and may they be happy wherever they are.
They have made me realised how fortunate i am. I am thankful for it.

Beat On The Cat
I was house-sitting for a friend and watching her pets. She told me her cat, Ringo, shows his affection by coming up and head-butting you.
I was watching TV one night and the cat comes creeping up along the back of the couch. He head-butts me in the head.
It's cute, so I head-butt him back. He does it again harder, I do it back. He does it again harder, I do it again...too hard.
The cat was knocked off the back of the couch and rendered unconscious by my love tap, and I had to take him to the 24 hour emergency animal hospital.
The vet said Ringo will be okay, had only a bump on the old noggin.
I confess I never told my friend. Today she mentioned her cat doesn't head-butt anymore and she wonders what his problem is.

"Hong Kong Deputy Director of Health Leung Pak-yin told a radio programme that cockroaches may have carried infected waste from sewage pipes into apartments at Amoy Gardens in densely populated Kowloon district."
"Cockroaches are considered to be one of the most serious risks to public health. Species such as American, German and Oriental cockroaches can transfer filth and disease from rubbish to domestic environments, causing the contamination of food. Cockroaches are omnivorous, with a diet including food, hair, leather, wallpaper and faeces. Viruses are contracted by humans on being ingested with food that has been infected by cockroaches. However, a spokeswoman for the Hong Kong health authorities said that all kinds of insects, not only cockroaches, were being investigated, as well as rats. "
I find this piece of news ridiculous!!!!!!

----- 8< snip ------
The other day my significant other was out and I decided to surprise her and do the dishes.
I loaded up the dishwasher and then realized we were out of the powdered special soap. Being a mama's boy and never actually having done this before, I substituted a generous amount of liquid dish soap. Thought it wouldn't make a difference.
Not even fifteen minutes later, upon returning to the kitchen, I found it full of foam.
My dishwasher exploded with soapy foam. Undefeated, I scooped up the foam and attempted to run it down the sink. That just created more foam.
So I scooped it up and tried to flush it down the toilet. That just ended with a kitchen full of foam, and a toilet full of foam.
Ten minutes before my wife comes home I discover that my frustrated whacking of the foam with a towel is diminishing the foam. I whacked the foam away, and ended up with ten soaking wet towels, but a clean kitchen. (Really clean actually)
I confess: I'm a total moron.

OFFICE
2 down with fever, 1 down with flu
There's 2 rows of desks in my office! Row A and B, those who fell sick happens to be the on sitting at row B.
Yesterday we had this belated birthday party for my colleague! Out of 10 person that we've invited, only 4 turned up! I reckoned most of them heard abt the news that ppl are falling sick in our office. Oh well, but even if they are not coming, they should have the basic courtesy to reply to the invitation right? Perhaps our office has been officially declared as "Quarantined" by them.
This proved to shows, when u get sick, esp down with possibly fatal virus, û齲
Only your family members will standby u. Sad but true.
I AM A SURVIVOR!

SONG ON AIR: Hao Guo Tian Gong - Beyond. Decides to download it after watching the mtv of this song during a KTV session. A very sad song written for the deceased member of the band from his brother.
Another sad blue monday, haven't been writing for quite some time. Here are some movies that i've watched over the last few weeks.
Just Married » This movie sucks real time!!! I SWEAR! It's the worst comedy that i've ever watched! The jokes are totally lame and brainless! They expect u to laugh at the actors/actresses silly actions and expressions most of the time!!! There isn't a single good thing that i can mention about this movie.
It's an abso-bloody-lutely NONO movie.
!#@*#*!!!
The Recruit » Fell asleep during the 3rd quarter of the movie. Boring for me, or maybe i'm just tired! Collin Farrell doesn't look good after some time of close-up watching, the camera seems to be focusing too much on his big round eyes for like 1/2 of the movie. Too much of him makes me sick. As for El Pacino, she doesn't look as good in this movie compared to Simone, she bears a close resemblance to Gwyneth Paltrow tho. :|
Conclusion: Watch it if u like the main casts.
The reviews might prove not to be true to you in whichever sense! So, don't COME pick a cat fight with me over this!!! I'll NOT entertain u!
I just got my bonus, very little. i've only got 1/4 of my pay. :(
I thot I should be getting at least 1K!!!
--------------------
Future
Ask me what would I be in 10 years time? I don't know.
Too much uncertainties in my life, are blinding me.
i miss the hockey pitch...

Some hilarious quotes that I've came across while reading some blogs and forums!
"u all should really go pjc n take a look at e cute n yan dao butches..... u will realise that u guys all cannot make it.... no wonder more gers r turning crooks... "
"Sometimes I wished all these motorcyclist value their lives a lil bit more....I mean...what if you're cute and you go right smashing through my windscreen and into my arms.... and then we fell in love and lived happily ever after? God...where am I heading to?"

The Internet is a Living Body
In many respects the Internet is like a living organism. It passes data through its structure using T1 lines, Cable modems, DSL and analog phone lines like an organic body transports blood through its arterial systems. The Internet excretes pheromones in the way of porn sites, and defecates in the way of spam. Popup windows are hiccups and multiple popups can be gastritis or ejaculation, depending upon what website you are on at the time of multiple popups.
Sometimes the Internet catches viruses, but anti-bodies quickly rush in and heal these minor infections. And there are vicious invaders that much be isolated and driven away. With each new website a new neural pathway reaches out making it smarter and giving it more physical structure. Websites are born and they die, they mutate and multiply.
The Internet reaches out onto the stars using images from the Hubble telescope, and uses web cams like microscopes to investigate itself internally. It is alive with eyes and thinks in digits. For this moment in time it must co-exist in a symbiotic relationship with humans to help reproduce and expand its reach. But soon there will come a time that it must expand beyond its confines and venture forth onto the stars and leave us in search of its creators, creator. When that time comes, I hope it takes its bloody spam mail with it.
